Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Full-Time Custodian to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and organization of our cannabis processing facility. This role is essential for maintaining a compliant and hygienic environment in line with state cannabis regulations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, physically fit, and able to work independently or as part of a team during standard business hours, with potential for occasional overtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing floors, walls, equipment, and workspaces in processing areas, offices, restrooms, and common spaces.
• Handle waste disposal, including proper management of cannabis-related waste in accordance with New York State Office of Cannabis Management guidelines.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, break rooms, and other high-traffic areas to ensure a sanitary environment.
• Perform minor maintenance duties, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing minor leaks, or reporting larger issues to management.
• Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely, including vacuums, buffers, and pressure washers.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and inventory as needed.
• Assist with facility setup for events or inspections, ensuring all areas meet health, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to cannabis industry-specific cleanliness requirements.
• Support other team members as needed during peak times or special projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance roles preferred; experience in a regulated industry (e.g., food processing, pharmaceuticals, or cannabis) is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to cannabis products (no consumption on site).
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States; must be 21 years of age or older due to industry requirements.
