Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-informed nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients, including post-surgical care and common diagnoses such as abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fracture, back pain, and morbid obesity (bariatric surgery).
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; monitor vital signs and patient responses; manage IV pumps and related hardware.
- Utilize NG and feeding tubes as needed; support patients with post-operative nutrition and wound care.
- Document assessments, plans, interventions, and outcomes in the EPIC electronic medical record; communicate changes to the care team and contribute to discharge planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, provide patient and family education, and maintain patient safety and comfort; participate in unit-based float as required.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York (NY RN) with NURSYS verification showing the active NY license and all active RN licenses.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience; travel experience required.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR; ability to document care accurately and timely.
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics (per submission requirements).
- Ability to work night shift and meet guaranteed hours; RTO must be included at the time of submission.
- Willingness to travel to a hospital-based Med/Surg unit and float to other units as needed.
