Job Summary
· McQuaid Jesuit has experienced meaningful growth in its marketing and communications efforts over the past year, resulting in increased visibility, engagement, and connection with both internal and external audiences. As this momentum continues, there is a clear need to expand capacity in order to tell the McQuaid story more fully, more frequently, and more effectively. The proposed Communication Specialist position is designed to strengthen these efforts while ensuring consistency , quality , and long-term sustainability .
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
● Purpure of the Position
o Build on the strong momentum in McQuaid Jesuit’s marketing and communications efforts
o Provide additional capacity and continuity to support the Director of Communications
o Ensure consistent, engaging, and mission aligned communications across all platforms
● Social Media Growth and Engagement
o Expand overall social media presence across existing platforms
▪ Increase posting frequency beyond the current 4-6 post per week
▪ Grow TikTok output beyond one post per week
o Develop more dynamic and engaging content
▪ Short form video
▪ Photography driven storytelling
▪ Platform specific content strategies
o Maintain consistency and responsiveness as audiences continue to grow
● Athletic Website and Athletic Communications
o Enhance the athletic website as a comprehensive and professional resource
▪ Roster photos for all student athletes
▪ Coach photos for all programs
▪ Student athlete information (i.e. H/W, hometown, grade)
▪ Coach biographs
▪ AHOF inductee bios and photos on website
▪ Facilities information and history
o Enhance photography coverage
▪ JV and modified teams
▪ Ensure representation for student athletes at every level
o Increase athletics storytelling
▪ Grow athletics site articles from one per week to two or three per week
▪ Highlight team success, individual growth, and program culture
● Non-Athletic Extracurricular Coverage
o Increase visibility of student experiences beyond athletics
▪ Clubs and student organizations
▪ Fine arts and performances
o Ensure balanced storytelling that reflects the full McQuaid Jesuit experience
● Content and Story Development Support
o Provide writing and editorial support as needed
▪ Assistance with The Cauldron articles
o Support video and multimedia content creation
▪ Short form video
▪ Event coverage
▪ Feature storytelling
● Operational Continuity and Sustainability
o Provide a reliable backup for the Director of Communications
▪ Coverage during illness, leave, and extended absence
o Provide for ability to cover simultaneous events, contests, productions and more
o Prevent communications channels from going inactive
▪ Social media
▪ Website updates
▪ Newsletters
▪ Other key communications platforms
● Strategic Value to McQuaid Jesuit
o Elevate visibility and storytelling across all areas of school life
o Ensure consistent and professional communications output
o Support enrollment, advancement, and community engagement
o Create a more resilient and sustainable communications operation

Education and Experience Requirements:
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in media or digital content creation. Or 3 to 5 years media experience.
Physical Demands

· While performing the duties of this job, the position involves walking, standing, lifting, and bending. The person is also required to talk and hear. The position is required to frequently stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Part of the duties may include lifting, carrying boxes as needed. Frequent and regular repetitive movements required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: Fast-paced school environment working in a school and/or office setting.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a 12-month, full-time position. (37.5 hours per week – non-exempt level position). Hourly pay range $20 – 25.
