Your impact

Jacobs Civil Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Cost Estimator Professional Associate for the New York, NY office.

In this role, you will:

Develop construction cost estimate from conceptual design level to final design deliverable. Calculate estimating costs using labor, material and equipment pricing schedules. Assist in developing a comprehensive and thoroughly documented estimating basis for all estimates. Solicit cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors. Prepare and maintains cost estimating historical cost data. Perform surveys for construction trends and the implications for estimating. Assist with cost estimating risk analyses, value engineering, and constructability exercises. Maintain and update bid schedule matrix. Create cost models for estimating elements. Assist lead estimator with reporting functions and assembly of project deliverables. Assist in the preparation of pricing change orders.

Here's what you'll need

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field and 5 years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation.

SPECIFIC SKILLS: expertise/ knowledge: Estimating systems such as HCSS Heavy bid, Sage Estimating (Timberline), and customized Excel spreadsheets for estimating. Estimating knowledge on Heavy Civil infrastructure projects. Ability to perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and other takeoff software, such as E-Takeoff, and OnScreen Off. Scheduling tools such as P6 and MS project. Ability to establish labor rates. Apply practical field experience and constructability expertise to the development of conceptual design estimates. Develop estimates in the accuracy and level of detail required for the intended purpose of the estimate. Experience with major infrastructure projects.

The base salary range for this position is $119,642.00 to $162,675.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
