Position Summary
Hudson National Golf Club is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Horticulturist to support the continued care, development, and enhancement of the club’s landscape and ornamental plantings. This role will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and grounds team to maintain the natural beauty and ecological integrity of the property while ensuring the club presents an exceptional experience for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance ornamental gardens, landscape beds, trees, shrubs, and native plant areas across the property
- Develop seasonal planting plans and assist with landscape design initiatives
- Monitor plant health, diagnose issues, and implement integrated pest management practices
- Manage irrigation strategies for landscaped areas
- Coordinate planting, pruning, fertilization, and soil health programs
- Assist with ecological stewardship projects, including native habitat restoration
- Work with the grounds crew to ensure consistent high-quality landscape presentation
- Maintain accurate records related to plant health, treatments, and seasonal work schedules
- Lead small crews assigned to helping with larger tasks such as mulching, annual flower planting, leaf clean up and debris from storms.
Qualifications
- A passion for plants and the outdoors
- Knowledge of plant identification, soil health, and pest/disease management
- Experience with native plants and sustainable landscape practices
- Ability to operate small landscape equipment and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Candidates of all horticultural knowledge encouraged to apply.
Schedule
20-30 hours a week in the mornings during the growing season. Candidates can pick a schedule that works for maintaining the property.
