Food Service/Support Staff
Join Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. as a Food Service/Support Staff member in Cooktown, supporting our Head Start and Pre-K classrooms. This part-time role is essential in ensuring nutritious meals are delivered and served to children, while also assisting with classroom activities and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. Responsibilities
- Receive and verify meal deliveries from food vendors, ensuring all components are present.
- Prepare and deliver meals and snacks to classrooms as needed.
- Maintain accurate and legible daily and monthly nutrition report forms.
- Follow sanitation and safety practices, including universal precautions.
- Provide classroom coverage during staff breaks as needed.
- Assist education staff with classroom activities and support strong family relationships.
- Maintain food inventory and related supplies, including paper and cleaning products.
- Place and pick up food and supply orders as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel within the service area.
- Ability to work 20–29 hours per week on a part-time schedule.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Compensation
$16.00 – $16.75 per hour , part-time (20–29 hours per week)
