Software engineer

Paychex North America, Inc. seeks Software Engineer IV (Rochester, NY) Job Duties: Lead and develop enterprise scale application development projects using Agile method, interfacing with Product Team, Application Architecture and ensure technical solutions are meeting the standards for reusability and extensibility. Duties include:1. Lead Enterprise application development and design of enterprise level Web applications and microservices using REST Services by leveraging technologies including Spring boot, Spring Data, Spring Cloud Gateway and OpenAPI.2. Guide Product Management on current technical evolutions and assist with strategizing these into potential features by finding marketable features or supplying a high-level design and estimates to rolling out features.3. Adopt and design proprietary Security Application patterns into the application and recommend enhancements to the security design.4. Collaborate with application and infrastructure architects to design system and process workflows to deliver high performing product suite.5. Consult on third party integrations to ensure system data consistency by using distributed streaming platform and periodically review application security health.6. Analyze relational database Oracle and No SQL database models, develop high performant queries, and recommend performance enhancements to existing database interfaces.7. Lead the triage and resolution of complex system issues involving live production clients by troubleshooting various components of the application and providing technical support.8. Design and evolve build automation pipelines, to help Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Design (CD) meeting the enterprise standards using Gradle, AQG, Jenkins, Digital AI XLR and XLD.9. Be a subject matter expert across multiple technologies and Paychex applications.10. Work with Agile/Scrum methodology, define development tasks, aid in scheduling and implement best practices for performance turning and optimization of application code.11. Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.12. Mentor and guide other engineers, providing technical leadership and encouraging a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.All Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equiv.) in Computer Science, any Engineering discipline, or related plus 5 years of experience in software development. Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include each of the following:1) 5 years of experience using REST (Representational State Transfer) Services leveraging Spring boot, Spring Data, Spring Cloud Gateway, Spring Security and OpenAPI.2) 5 years of development experience with a distributed streaming platform (Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ), Relational Database Oracle, Non-Relational Mongo DB and custom SDLC Dashboard development with Metabase.3) 5 years of development experience with Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, OpenShift using Kubernetes, Digital AI XLR and XLD.4) 5 years of software development experience in Gradle plugin development.5) 5 years of experience working with Checkmarx Security tools 6) 5 years of experience in developing applications and libraries utilizing Go lang, Kotlin, Groovy and SQL.7) 3 years of experience in test automation framework creation using Go lang, Pytest, Selenium, Gauge and Sauce Labs 8) 1 year of experience developing with Open Policy Agent Position requires participation in occasional on-call rotation coverage.May work remotely from any location in the US.Job Site: 135 Calkins Road, Rochester, NY 14623 (Full-Time).
