Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.Under the direction of a Deputy Commissioner of Technology (DCT), within the Dedicated Support team for Office of Parks and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) and Adirondack Park Agency (APA), the Manager of Information Technology Services 1 (Information Security)-SG 27 will oversee all aspects of cybersecurity, including risk management, incident response, and compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of current threat landscapes and a proven ability to lead security initiatives in a complex government environment.Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following:- Lead and implement information security and compliance programs.- Lead and resolve security threats to agency information systems.- Serve as information security expert and evaluate systems and contracts for alignment with agency and State information security policies.- Assist in planning, coordination, and response for internal and external security audits, ensuring timely collection of evidence and alignment with applicable compliance requirements. Additionally, assist with review of audit findings and appropriate remediation activities ensuring corrective actions are prioritized, assigned, and completed within required timeframes.- Monitor and stay aware of information security industry trends, tools, and techniques.- Serve as a liaison between DCT leadership and ISO, representing agency interests while supporting statewide cybersecurity initiatives.- Assist OPRHP/APA in complying with information security policies, standards, protocols, and best practices.- Assist OPRHP/APA in evaluating, understanding, and appropriately managing information security risks.- Ensure security engineering and architecture considerations are addressed in services and systems designs.- Advise OPRHP/APA on security considerations related to procurement of products and services.- Supervise staff and resources dedicated to the OPRHP/APA Dedicated Team.- Perform additional duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: Seven years of information technology, cybersecurity, or information assurance experience*, including one year at the supervisory level.Substitutions:A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field substitutes for three years of required experience; any bachelor's substitutes for two years of required experience.An associate degree with 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field may substitute for one year of required experience. Candidates in a bachelor's degree program with at least 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field may substitute such credits for one year of required experience.A master's degree or higher in computer science or related field substitutes for one year of required experience.

Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis.
