IT Project Manager
The IT Project Manager is responsible for the day to day management of technology projects across several technology units within the University. The prosperous candidate will join a highly collaborative team that is passionate about fulfilling the mission of the University and will be required to have both technical and consummate communication expertise to engage with a diverse audience. this job offer will be highly visible within both the Technology and Facilities Services (TFS) group as well as business units across the University. this job offer will be responsible for driving technology projects to prosperous conclusion, balancing resources in conjunction with other technology managers, and contributing to ensuring alignment of projects to strategic imperatives. this job offer will report to the IT Project Director in TFS.tasks and Responsibilities:
»Elicit specifications, gather requirements, and collaborate with cross functional team members to develop innovative solutions
»Create detailed work plans which identify and sequence the activities needed to prosperously complete projects as well as identify critical path and dependencies
»Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete projects prosperously and effectively negotiate any constraints
»Review project schedules with stakeholders that will be affected by project activities.
»Determine the objectives and KPIs upon which projects will be evaluated at completion and build consensus from project sponsors and stakeholders
»Monitor progress of projects and make adjustments in consultation with project teams to ensure the prosperous completion of the project
»Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders in the organization on the progress of the project
»Foster an environment conducive to team discussion and collaborative decision making
»Create project status reports for management and project team members
»Identify project constraints and recommend corrective actions
»Manage all project funds according to established budgets, accounting policies and procedures
»Ensure proper change controls are implemented and managed
Qualifications required
»A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related degree or an unrelated Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of significant practice as described above
»Four years of significant practice as described above
»Project Management Certification (PMI-PMP) is preferred
»Preference will be given to those individuals who also possess prior leadership abilities practice
» practice with system integration, technical & business architecture, and software development is preferred
» practice with project management and workflow tools such as Agile, Jira, WorkFront, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, etc preferred.
» practice with open-source technologies and cloud services preferred.
»Strong communication expertise and capability to explain protocol and processes with team and management.
»Commitment to keeping the technical environment in alignment with Excelsior policies and security guidelines.
»Excellent organizational and decision-making expertise including the demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while providing quality service
