A Day In The Life

The typical day is… atypical. Responsibilities will include understanding our customers objectives, building strong relationships, financial and assortment planning, participating in market appointments, drive business development, and foster external and cross-functional partnerships. Specifically, you'll be accountable for Wholesale Sales, focusing Bloomingdale’s Handbags & SLGs (small leather goods) with a focus on driving growth and mitigating risk across your business areas. Throughout, you'll collaborate with a remarkable group of individuals who share your dedication to excellence.

Responsibilities

To Land This Role:

Selling & Account Management

  • Manage the Bloomingdale’s business by tracking performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving actions that grow sales.
  • Build strong partnerships with store and field teams, sharing clear insights and recommendations at the door and account level.
  • Lead weekly business communication with Bloomingdale’s, highlighting key wins, challenges, and next steps.
  • Recommend reorders, style additions or removals, and markdown strategies to maximize productivity and profitability.

Shipping & Operational Management

  • Oversee daily shipping activity and resolve issues related to deliveries, pricing, and timing.
  • Forecast monthly shipping performance and communicate risks or opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Review contracts, product flow, and inventory needs to support on‑time deliveries and optimize open‑to‑buy.

Assortment & Market Planning

  • Hindsight prior seasons to create and drive strategies; lead pre-assortment and post-assortment reviews with Sales teams and Planning teams
  • Prepare and lead market appointments, including assortment selection, financial review, and pre‑market meetings with the Bloomingdale’s team.
  • Submit and manage seasonal orders, ensuring accuracy and timely updates across internal partners.

Digital & Competitive Insights

  • Monitor Bloomingdale’s eCommerce experience and recommend improvements to enhance product visibility and conversion.
  • Share relevant market and competitive trends that inform assortment and business strategies.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Run and analyze business reporting to identify trends and actionable insights.
  • Partner with Planning on sales forecasts, inventory management, and OTB alignment.
  • Build tools and processes that improve efficiency and support data‑driven decision‑making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7-9 years of Account Management/Wholesale or Retail Buying experience
  • Strong retail and finance acumen required (margin, pricing, OTB, P&L, etc.)
  • Experience in managing multiple categories and excel in a fast-paced work environment
  • Confidence in partnering with cross-functional teams and ability to create and lead initiatives
  • Excel proficiency required (v-lookup, pivot table, build running templates, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills- detail oriented & self-motivated

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is 90,000.00 USD - 125,000.00 USD. Our offer will be based on your relevant experience and work location.
