Job Summary/Basic Function:
THE RITA GOLD EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER (RGC) at Teachers College seeks a part-time administrative assistant to provide administrative support in an early childhood education center serving children ages 6 weeks to five years old. Job responsibilities involve supporting the day-to-day operations and mission of the Rita Gold Early Childhood Center, working closely with the On-Site Director.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain communication with current families and facilitate intake of new families.
- Maintain budget functions and fees/billing management.
- Assist teachers with classroom-related administrative responsibilities.
- Process required staff, child and student health/welfare forms and documents, ensuring compliance with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
- Respond to phone and email messages.
- Maintain the enrollment application/waitlist database.
- Perform other Center-related duties around enrollment, scheduling, and parent communication.
- Interface with College offices and departments such as C&T, Budget Office, and Facilities.
- Participate in all center-wide events, assisting with planning and execution of events.
- Routine updates to the Center website.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Previous administrative experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Well-developed organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Able to create, maintain, and manage internal record keeping on an ongoing basis.
- Must submit necessary clearance paperwork and pass DOHMH background check for childcare settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Early Childhood Education and/or experience working in an early childhood education setting
- Experience with accounting/managing budget.

$24/hour
