Machine Repair Electrician / 2nd Shift
We have an immediate opportunity for a Machine Repair Electrician to join us at our diverse team in Freeport, Illinois. Must be a team player responsible for performing mid to expert level repairs, preventative maintenance (PM), fabrication, rearrangement and installation of equipment and systems.
This is a 1st Shift position, with a pay range between $29.50 per hour and $37.60 per hour, DOE.Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include the following.
- Observing devices in operation to diagnose the root cause of a problem, disassembling devices to gain access to and replace defective parts, examining parts to detect failure modes, adjustment of assemblies and controls.
- Perform tests and repair of electrical circuitry and controls utilizing schematics, manuals, and written documentation. Identifies and assists in sourcing of repair parts.
- Complies with all Safety and 5S requirements.
- Situational awareness and ability to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Updates all records and workorder history.
- Aids lower-level technicians. Completes on the job and technical training for career development. Ability to work alone or on a cross functional team.
- Leads small teams in root cause problem solving activities.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.

- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) equivalent. 3-5 years’ experience.
- Knowledge of Hydraulics & Pneumatic and Machine Repair is necessary. Equivalent experience and education will be considered.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers & service technicians is required.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume are required. The ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry is required.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in trouble shooting situations where only limited information exists.
