Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care (LTC) position at a state/government-run skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Vestal, NY, with a focus on Alzheimer's and dementia patient care.

Details

• State/government-run long-term care center offering rehabilitation therapies, skilled nursing, memory care, and wound care
• 300-bed facility with a patient ratio of 1:18-20
• Patient population includes residents with Alzheimer's and dementia
• Evening shift, 8-hour days (approximately 14:45–23:15), 5 days per week
• Every other weekend required
• Charting system is Point Click Care (PCC); prior experience not required

Requirements

• Active NY State RN license required — no license violations/hits allowed
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required; recent experience in rehab, med/surg, or a hospital setting may also be considered
• Must be able to pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
• Strong attendance and punctuality are essential
• Proof of NY RN license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, performing medication passes, monitoring and reporting changes in resident condition, completing documentation, and supervising CNAs
• Solid-color scrubs and closed-toe shoes required
• RTO must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — no RTO will be approved after an offer is extended
• Cannot take every holiday off
• Any call-outs must be communicated with more than 24 hours' notice
• Compliance onboarding takes approximately 1.5–2 weeks
• Relias training modules must be completed no later than 3 days prior to the assignment start date
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
