Assistant Counsel
- Prosecutes discrimination complaints on behalf of the Division under New York State Human Rights Law.
- Reviews case files and related documentation, interviews witnesses, prepares cases, and presents evidence at administrative hearings.
- Drafts legal documents, including petitions, answers and briefs, and appears for oral argument at State court proceedings.
- Negotiates, prepares, and submits settlement agreements.
- Conducts legal research and drafts guidance and legal opinions on state and federal law.
- Provides assistance with discovery holds, records management, and Freedom on Information Law requests.
- Such other duties as may be required or assigned.
