About the Role
The Carbon Project Analyst will support ClearSky’s advisory team in evaluating, developing, and advancing carbon project opportunities across North America and globally. This role is suited to an early-career professional with strong analytical skills and an interest in carbon methodologies, project feasibility, and client-facing advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the advisory team in assessing carbon project opportunities across a range of pathways, including nature-based solutions, carbon removals, biochar, biofuels, and engineered climate solutions.
- Conduct carbon accounting, emissions reduction and removal assessments, and baseline analyses.
- Assist in preparing feasibility studies, investment cases, technical memoranda, and client-ready presentations.
- Research registry methodologies, eligibility criteria, policy developments, and market standards relevant to project development.
- Support the development of project narratives, crediting strategies, and pathway assessments for advisory clients.
- Help maintain internal market intelligence on carbon methodologies, registries, and emerging project categories.
- Collaborate with internal teams across project development, finance, and sales to support integrated client solutions.
- Assist with diligence on feedstock, operational, commercial, and regulatory considerations for new opportunities.
Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of experience in carbon markets, environmental consulting, project analysis, sustainability, or a related field.
- Relevant education in environmental science, engineering, economics, finance, policy, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with voluntary carbon market standards and methodologies.
- Strong quantitative, research, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical tools used in carbon accounting or project evaluation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and globally oriented environment.
- Experience supporting client proposals or business development efforts is an asset.
