Join the FLIK Culinary Team in Yonkers, NY

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to support the daily culinary operations at Saint Vladimir's Seminary in Yonkers, NY. In this role, you will assist in supervising kitchen staff, preparing high-quality meals, and developing creative menu items. You will work closely with the Executive Chef and Chef Manager to drive culinary excellence, ensure efficient kitchen operations, and maintain exceptional food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Chef in managing food and labor costs to meet financial goals.

• Support menu planning and recipe development in alignment with company standards.

• Lead food preparation and presentation for daily meals and special catering events.

• Collaborate on the rollout of new culinary initiatives and marketing programs.

• Supervise hourly kitchen associates as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience.

• Progressive culinary or kitchen management experience; high-volume foodservice preferred.

• Strong catering experience is a plus.

• Proficiency in institutional or batch cooking.

• Deep understanding of culinary trends, food safety, sanitation standards, and cost control.

• Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and internet applications.

• Customer-focused with a willingness to support client satisfaction initiatives.

• ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
