About the job:

Lead the definition and implementation of the regional product proposition as part of a global platform strategy. Actively participate in pricing, market making and risk hedging strategy repo trading activity, seeking to maximize the franchise in the product distribution to clients/investors whilst promoting the excellence in the service offered to both internal/ external clients. The mandate also includes the development and implantation of security lending capability. Collaborate with the global head of the desk in defining Repo Flow & non-Flow strategy in the region under his/ her responsibility, focusing on meeting internal and external customers’ needs and complying with the risk and regulatory requirements

Contribute towards and lead execution of the regional strategy, in order to generate recurring income in order to meet the revenues targets that are set each year

Lead the desk coordination, delegating tasks amongst his/ her team based on their product specialization, position and workload. Follow up and supervision of all on-going trading activity, helping in solving problems and bottlenecks as needed

Support the day-to-day market making activity, quoting the most relevant transactions, as required. Manage the approval for operations that exceed given risk limits. Focus on promoting the excellence in the service offered to the clients

Supervise all risk management, remaining compliant within the existing limit structure and also applying best practice, prudent risk mgmt. policies. Risk includes but not limited to; counterparty, market (IR, Currency), funding, operational, conduct and reputational risk

Create a compliance first culture, understanding relevant compliance regulation, deferring to local compliance officers for confirmation, and ensure all clarifications and decisions are appropriately documents

People development, continuously assess the skills and capabilities of the team and actively support their professional development

Responsible for hiring to meet demand as the desk expands and/or there is a requirement to plug skill gaps. Ensure close coordination with HR throughout the process

Encourage the coordination and strategic alignment with other Global Markets desks and internal areas. Foster the collaboration with the Sales desks to set commercial targets for different products and with other Global Rates trading desks in order to mainstream the market knowledge and create synergies in the operations’ profitability and risk management

Assist Finance CIB and Regulation CIB with views on industry topics that affect Bank’s business.

Lead a key role in promoting the bank's positioning within the repo business, meeting external customers and encouraging the innovation and efficiency within the team and stakeholders, with the objective to add value to the customers

Take part in specific working groups and projects. Focus on the analysis of the impact and implications of the markets’ regulatory reforms in the trading tools, valuation models and operating processes

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $300,000 to $350,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
