Mid-Shift Line Cook (AM) – White Oak Tavern
White Oak Tavern is seeking a reliable and experienced Mid-Shift Line Cook to join our kitchen team. We are a busy, high-volume tavern in the West Village serving classic, rustic dishes with a strong brunch and daytime service.
Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday – 9am-5pm / Mid-Shift
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute brunch and lunch service with consistency and precision
- Strong focus on egg cookery (must be confident in all styles)
- Expedite tickets efficiently while maintaining quality and timing
- Communicate clearly and constantly with chefs and kitchen team
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper food safety standards
- Assist with prep and station setup as needed
Requirements:
- Prior line cook experience in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong egg cookery skills are required
- Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Punctual, dependable, and professional
What We’re Looking For:
Someone who can step into a busy service, keep the line moving, and communicate effectively with the chefs while maintaining high standards across every plate. Weekend shifts focus on high-volume brunch service (Saturday and Sunday), while weekday shifts are lunch-only and require strong consistency and execution during a steady service.
