Brennan Wellness Promotion Staff Development Fellowship (78399)

Iona University
New Rochelle, NY

Salary Range:
$5,000.00 - $5,000.00 Commission/year

Position Type: Part Time

Description

The Brennan Wellness Promotion Staff Development Fellowship is a one-year, renewable professional development opportunity for early-career staff within the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs who are interested in mental and physical health and wellness promotion. Two fellowship positions are available . Appointments are for one year , with the option to renew following a performance review at the end of the first year . Fellowship responsibilities span 11 months, from August 1 through June 30 .

The fellowship is designed to expand wellness education and engagement opportunities for students through coordinated, student-facing initiatives. Fellows will collaborate with health and wellness services on campus-including the Counseling Center, Wellness Center, and divisional leadership-as well as a broad network of campus partners. The experience is intentionally developmental, providing exposure to best practices in wellness promotion, prevention-based programming, and cross-functional collaboration.

Fellows will design, implement, and assess campus-wide wellness initiatives addressing topics such as mental health awareness, suicide prevention, substance use prevention, interpersonal violence prevention, stress management, and physical health promotion. Programming may include events, campaigns, social media outreach, tabling, presentations, and national awareness initiatives. Fellowship activities are completed outside of the Fellow's primary position responsibilities , and each Fellow receives a stipend in recognition of this additional commitment.

While the number of hours required weekly will vary in accordance with the programs being planned and delivered, Fellows should expect to spend approximately 20 hours per month on Fellowship related responsibilities.

Fellows will receive performance reviews mid-year and at the end of the Fellowship year. Evaluation of performance in the fellowship is separate from, and has no bearing on, performance review in the Fellow's regular staff position.

Compensation

Each Fellow will receive a stipend of $5,000 for the 11-month period of the Fellowship, to be paid biweekly.
