SALES ASSISTANT

The Sales Assistant plays a vital support role in helping the sales team grow business within the New York City market for Dish Food & Events, a premier catering and hospitality provider. This position works closely with the sales team to execute administrative tasks, manage client communications, assist with cold outreach, and ensure the smooth operation of daily sales activities.

By staying organized, proactive, and client-focused, the Sales Assistant helps maintain a high-performing sales function and directly contributes to the team’s success by supporting sales initiatives, enhancing client service, and ultimately driving revenue to meet company goals.
Our ideal candidate will bring:
- At least 1–2 years of experience in a sales support, administrative, or customer service role within the hospitality or catering industry
- A strong interest in sales and event planning, with the ability to support proactive outreach and help maintain client relationships. Outreach support includes hunting and cold calling new clients, venues and planners.
- The ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while providing outstanding customer service
- A basic understanding of sales strategy and hospitality industry dynamics, with a willingness to learn and grow in a sales-focused role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to assist in client correspondence, meeting scheduling, and follow-up
- Strong attention to detail Familiarity with or interest in learning New York City’s catering and events landscape
- A positive, team-oriented attitude, eager to support both clients and the broader sales team
- A strong sense of initiative, with the drive to help the team meet and exceed sales goals
RESPONSIBILITIES
SALES + EVENT SUPPORT- Work closely with the Event Directors and Event Producers and coordinate with the operations and culinary teams to help ensure smooth event planning and successful execution.
- Provide excellent customer service to Dish clients by assisting in all stages of event planning, from initial inquiry to event completion.
- Assist in the creation of event proposals, menus, production orders, equipment needs, BEOs, invoices, and timelines.
- Collaborate with the staffing coordinator on staffing needs and support day-of logistics when needed.
- Help maintain accurate documentation including floor plans, client correspondence, and internal checklists.
- Assist with prospecting and outreach efforts to help grow the client base and support business development strategies.
- Coordinate with the marketing manager to support sales initiatives and brand visibility.
- Attend and assist with on-site event management, as needed, including some evenings and weekends.

- Actively participate in Dish’s Continuous Performance Management program including weekly 1:1s, quarterly check ins and annual performance reviews.
