Local CPA firm seeks senior staff accountant to join our fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will be a CPA or CPA candidate with over 5 years of public accounting experience, experience with construction accounting preferred. The candidate should be proficient in Word, Excel and QuickBooks, prior experience with CaseWare and ProSystem FX a plus. The candidate should be a self-starter, able to multitask and have a desire to learn and grow with our firm.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare GAAP financial statements, tax returns, and other financial reports including sales tax, payroll tax.

• Ability to perform audit, review and compilation engagements to carry them through completion.

· Tax return preparation and review of individual, corporation, partnership, not-for profit, trust and estate.

• Tax planning, consulting and compliance, sales tax Nexus rules.

• Develop effective working relationships with clients.

· Assist with developing, training and mentoring staff.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in public accounting or other related fields required.

· Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools such as QuickBooks, Caseware, ProSystem FX Accounting Software, Word and Excel.

· Auditing experience a plus.

· Ability to identify and research tax issues, develop resolutions, and prepare written conclusions.

· Experience with real estate and construction a plus.

Required :

· BS in Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate preferred or Enrolled Agent

· Self-starter with the ability to handle and manage multiple priorities.

· 5+ experience working in public accounting or related field

· Possesses strong knowledge and understanding of accounting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

· Understanding and knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices.

· Possess strong knowledge of tax law, federal and state(s).

· Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

· The ideal candidate will be deadline driven, proactive, detailed oriented, and have solid communication and multi-tasking skills
