We are based in the heart of New York City, offering culinary programs that include meeting catering, office-wide meals, receptions, and events. Our custom 10,000 square foot commissary located in Bryant Park allows us to minimize your onsite back of house needs, resulting in food service that is nimble, lightweight, and cost-efficient. A little about the Role
We are currently seeking a Receiver to join the team at Savory Hospitality. The ideal candidate will proactively support the needs of the company and our clientele, with a strong focus on order fulfillment, presentation, safety, and delivery logistics. The Receiver is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and rotating food and supply deliveries while maintaining clean, organized, and compliant storage areas. This role also supports kitchen and operations teams through inventory tracking, sanitation duties, food safety practices, and clear communication with supervisors regarding deliveries, discrepancies, and facility issues.
Receiving & Facilities Support Associate
We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented team member to support our Operations and Kitchen teams. This role is responsible for receiving deliveries, maintaining organized storage areas, ensuring food safety standards are met, and keeping the facility clean and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and properly store all food, beverage, and supply deliveries
- Follow FIFO practices, complete temperature logs, receiving logs, and inventory counts
- Wash fresh produce and ensure proper food handling and hygiene
- Maintain clean and organized storage, receiving, and restroom areas
- Handle and store chemicals safely and dispose of waste properly
- Communicate delivery issues, inventory discrepancies, and maintenance concerns to management
- Support Operations and Kitchen teams with additional duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation
- Strong time management and punctuality
- Team-oriented with a flexible, can-do attitude
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records
Job requirements:
- Capability to maintain a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods in varying temperature conditions
- Ability to repeatedly lift to 50 lbs
- DOH Food Handler’s certificate preferred
- Willingness to work an overnight schedule from 11:00 PM or 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM, Sunday night through Thursday night (ending Friday at 8:00 AM), with occasional weekends and holidays as needed.
