Dental Assistant

About the Position:

Westchester Gentle Dentistry is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our growing team in Port Chester, NY. This role is ideal for a reliable and caring professional who enjoys working in a team-oriented environment and helping patients feel comfortable throughout their dental visits.

Our practice has served families throughout Westchester County for more than 25 years , providing preventive, cosmetic, and restorative dental care using modern technology and treatment systems.

The office is conveniently located in Port Chester, NY , near Rye, Rye Brook, and Greenwich.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms and organize instruments and equipment for procedures.
• Take digital X-rays and assist with diagnostic imaging.
• Maintain infection control and sterilization protocols in accordance with OSHA and CDC standards.
• Provide patients with post-treatment instructions for oral care.
• Educate patients on preventative dental care and oral hygiene.
• Ensure operatories remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.
• Support smooth clinical workflow throughout the day.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of Dental Assistant experience preferred.
• Experience taking digital dental X-rays .
• Familiarity with Dentrix practice management software preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
• Experience assisting with oral surgery or implant procedures is a plus but not required.

Schedule:

• Monday - Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Approximately 40 hours per week

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly pay: $27–$30 per hour (based on experience)
