The School of Science at Marist College is pleased to invite applications for a full-time Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Science & Policy, for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Department seeks faculty committed to undergraduate teaching excellence at a comprehensive liberal arts institution that supports both liberal arts and professional programs.
Poughkeepsie and several nearby communities are ranked among the most diverse in the Hudson River Valley region, with major cultural and recreational attractions as well as easy access to New York City on Amtrak or Metro-North train service.
Minimum Qualifications required
»M.S. or Ph.D. in Environmental Science or closely related field
»Enthusiasm for teaching undergraduates
» practice with teaching undergraduates preferred
Essential Functions:
The prosperous candidate will have broad expertise of environmental science & policy, with teaching practice preferred. Teaching responsibilities include 12 contact hours per week each semester. The teaching load will consist primarily of introductory courses that fulfill the general education requirement and may include an introductory course for majors or an upper level course in the area of special interest or skills of the Lecturer. Academic advising, committee service and research are not required.
