Senior Solutions Architect II

Schrodinger, Inc. seeks a Senior Solutions Architect II for its New York, NY location. Duties: Provide technical input during customer pre-sales engagements, technical scoping, installation, testing, customization, and training of end-users on Schrodingers highly specialized scientific computing platform and in-house drug discovery programs. Enable customers and/or end-users in making effective use of Schrodingers Enterprise Informatics and High-Performance Computing (HPC) software solutions, encompassing large-scale cheminformatics, data management, and computational modeling delivery systems geared towards molecular design for drug and materials development. Ensure Schrodingers drug discovery software performs optimally in the customer environment (which ranges from small on-prem server setups to sophisticated HPC and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure and GCloud). Design and implement optimal deployment strategies and custom interfaces for integration with customer systems and technologies. Collaborate with the customers on installation, configuration, and update/maintenance of on-premises or cloud-hosted installations of our scientific computing and enterprise software applications. Collaborate with product managers, developers, and scientists to improve deployment, support, and configuration of Schrodingers applications. Assist and lead the migration of all cloud-hosted deployments from monolithic architecture to microservice-driven Kubernetes-based architecture on AWS and GCP. Collaborate with the internal QA team, to streamline issue navigation and bug-reporting processes within the SA team. Develop tools and technologies with the SA team to reduce the burden of support and improve team-wide quality-of-life. Requirements: Masters degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Materials Science or a closely related scientific field plus 2 years (or a Bachelors degree plus 5 years) of technical work experience as a Solutions Architect, QA Scientist, Senior Engineer, Senior Applications Scientist or closely related position involving research data management and/or computational solutions for drug discovery. Experience must include: Mentoring colleagues, developing Standard Operating Procedures, creating and maintaining detailed documents; Using Jira, Confluence, Python, Terraform, Salesforce, Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google Kubernetes Engine, Kubernetes and Linux Bash Scripting; Experience with bioassay & analytical method development; and end-user expert experience in data handling with Electronic Lab Notebooks. May work from home but must be able to report to New York, New York office at least 2 days per week. Salary is $128,500 to $146,500 per year.
