Description

The Division ofPsychological & Educational Services (PES), which is housed within Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education (GSE), invitesapplications for a clinical Assistant professor position within its MPCAC-accredited master’s programs in School Counseling and MentalHealth Counseling. In addition to graduate-level teaching, the successful applicant will also be expected to provide effective academicadvisement and clinical mentorship to promote graduate students’ professional competence and skill development. The candidate will also beexpected to contribute to initiatives and activities in the PES division and in the Graduate School of Education. The program, division,school, and university are especially interested in qualified candidates who are committed to and will actively contribute to our efforts tocelebrate our cultural and intellectual richness and be resolute in advancing equity and inclusion of the academic community through theirteaching and service.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Teach graduate-level counseling courses each semesterin the counseling programs.
2. Provide advising and mentoring to graduate students in the counseling programs.
3. Contribute tothe PES’s academic and programmatic activities, including grading of comprehensive examinations, student orientation, admissions, and otherfield experience-related activities.
4. Provide division, school, and university-wide service and professional service at state andnational levels, which are particularly geared to promoting equity and access to the counseling field and mental health services across thelifespan.
5. Actively support a just, safe, and inclusive campus by committing to improving systems to support minoritized andhistorically marginalized people to reduce bias and create and sustain equity.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1. Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in CounselorEducation, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology
2. Licensed as a mental health counselor (LMHC) or psychologist, or eligiblefor licensure as a mental health counselor or psychologist in New York State
3. Commitment to diversity, social justice, andexcellence in graduate preparation
4. Competence in clinical practice and competence to make contributions to graduate-level clinicaland assessment courses
5. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students across the college and university

Preference will be given to candidates who also have:

• Evidence of success in teaching graduate-level courses, programdevelopment, and student mentoring
• Experience with instructional technology applications and distance delivery methods for graduateeducation.
