Bassett Healthcare Network is an integrated healthcare system that provides care and service to people living in an eight-county region covering 5,600 square miles in Central New York. The organization includes five corporately affiliated hospitals, as well as skilled nursing facilities, community and school-based health centers, and health partners in related fields.

The Cooperstown area is a vibrant, diverse, and sophisticated upstate community set in a bucolic lakefront village affording four seasons of culture and outdoor activity. An unparalleled and well-appointed community sports center is a unique social center for the community and schools.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

1. Join an established group of 5 ophthalmologists and 3 optometrists.
2. The current need is for a general ophthalmologist who can provide comprehensive eye care.
3. The current group has pediatric, retina and glaucoma specialists.
4. Support staff consists of ophthalmic technicians, LPNs, and RNs and are well-trained.
5. On call is every 5th weekend, from Cooperstown, and rarely busy
6. Outreach clinics are attended by all ophthalmologists but are limited to only one location each.
7. Referral patterns for tertiary care ophthalmologists are well established.
8. Salary Range: $433,000 - $525,000 plus performance-based compensation. This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good-faith belief in the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
9. Bassett offers physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap. Individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment.
10. Residency stipend up to $40,000 for up to 18 months prior to graduation
11. Sign-on Bonus up to $100,000

Job Qualifications

1. MD, DO or MBBS
2. Board Eligible or Board Certified
3. NYS Licensure
4. BLS Certification Required
5. DEA Required
