Services Now for Adult Persons, Inc. – Eastern Queens Older Adult Center – Queens Village, NY
Under the supervision of the Chief Program Officer, Director of EQ Older Adult Center and Kitchen Supervisor/Head Cook responsibilities include assisting with the food preparation, service and clean up of lunch meals and adherence to sanitation standards
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
· Assist in meal preparation process, including cooking and portioning according to the direction of the Supervisor/Head Cook, and Cook
· Assist in preparing meals for the daily menu as well as any special dietary requirements
· Safeguard food, supplies and equipment
· Assist with the receiving and proper storage of food and supplies
· Assist in the preparation of alternative lunches
· Assist with the portioning and serving of the luncheon meal for home bound and congregate clients
· Assist in taking monthly physical inventory
· Ability to take initiative and to implement effective time management
· Ability to work as a team with kitchen staff/colleagues
· Perform other tasks as need and requested
Qualifications
Good health, ability to stand long hours and able to lift heavy objects when needed
Highschool Diploma/GED Equivalent
Food Handlers license a plus
Work Schedule:
The Assistant Cook position is on- site, in the center Monday through Friday, from 7:30AM to 3:00 PM. Salary $43,735.00 Health Insurance/Benefits
