Class A OTR Driver Job
Responsible for transporting goods from one place to another using heavy or tractor-trailer trucks. Operates trucks with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds per gross vehicle weight. The driver’s primary responsibility will be short to mid-range hauls. The secondary responsibility is long hauls and local hauls when the company has a need.
Performs all duties in accordance with Native Trax Transport (NTT) policies and procedures, and complies with all federal, state, and local regulations for the secure and safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV). Understands and carries out all security/safety procedures. Conducts a thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the equipment assigned as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and NTT.
Safely operates tractor trailer equipment in different configurations as assigned, with varying weights as allowed by law, under all types of climatic conditions, terrain, road conditions and traffic situations, in urban and rural settings, for extended periods of time, over long distances, either direct or by way of other intermediate points in accordance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as NTT policy.
Ensures that all required shipping documentation accompanies all deliveries. Performs roadside inspections as required by the law, various administrative agency regulations and NTT policy.
Communicates in a professional manner with persons whom the driver is in contact with as a NTT representative. Exudes excellent customer service skills such as but not limited to; proper and professional greeting upon arrival, brief but pleasant small talk to build relationships, setting expectations with customers for unloading, safely unloading and making the delivery, professional dress and personal hygiene. Maintains all required certifications required by DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs.
Pay: $58,000/year
The Company pays up to 90% of the premiums for individual and family health insurance coverage depending on the plan. There are three plans to choose from. One Copay Plan and two High Deductible Plans.
The Company pays 100% of the cost of dental insurance.
The Company pays 100% of the cost of employee life insurance.
The Company pays up to $2500 in matching 401(k) funds annually.
The Company provides 2 weeks of paid time off plus six paid holidays.
The Company provides a low cost vision insurance plan to employees and covered dependents.
The Company provides low cost additional life insurance to employees and covered dependents.
The Company provides benefits to qualified domestic partners (same and opposite sex).
The Company serves our community with a charitable giving and volunteering program.
The Company has a $2,000.00 sign on bonus.
