Bilingual Case Manager

In this role, you will provide advocacy, crisis intervention, and case management services to our Spanish-speaking clients, helping them navigate the social services system and achieve self-sufficiency. Responsibilities
- Provide case management services to Spanish-speaking clients, including assistance with applications, advocacy, certifications, and referrals related to social services, immigration, and translations.
- Negotiate human service needs in the areas of affordable housing, healthcare, substance use disorder, transportation, employment, training, domestic violence, food assistance, and referral services for strengthening families to be self-sufficient.
- Manage cases involving clients experiencing periodic crises.
- Transport clients in agency vehicle when necessary.
- Assist at reception desk as needed and perform interoffice mail delivery.
- Maintain client files and complete timely progress notes.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service training, relevant seminars, and workshops.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and records as needed.
- Ensure client confidentiality in accordance with agency policy.
- Develop charts, forms, and other operational materials, and implement operational systems to achieve effective workloads and workflow to benefit the households served.
- Perform other duties or special projects as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Experience in human services field.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of human services.
- Awareness and sensitivity of cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of local diverse population.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, client service and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion.
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, as well as experience and ability to use a database case management system.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Work conditions may include:
- Exposure to inclement weather and noise.
- Exposure to electronic equipment including computers, printers, fax, and copy machines and cleaning equipment.
- Position requires use of a motor vehicle, driving on city streets and/or highways, exposure to inclement weather and traffic. Employees are to take all precautions and follow all laws while in these environments.
- Requires consistent punctuality and attendance at the job site.
