About the Position

The Director of Construction will lead all construction operations and serve as a key member of the senior leadership team. This role is being hired in advance of the current Director’s upcoming retirement, ensuring a smooth transition and strong continuity of leadership.

The ideal candidate will oversee multiple concurrent renovation projects—typically ranging from $100K to $200K , with occasional projects exceeding $1M —while managing and mentoring project managers and field teams. This leader will maintain and enhance the company’s well-established operational standards, drive efficiency, support quality control, and reinforce a culture of professionalism and client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage company-wide construction operations and project delivery.
  • Oversee multiple projects and project managers simultaneously.
  • Maintain and elevate construction standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to company quality expectations.
  • Provide mentorship and performance management to project management staff.
  • Collaborate with design, estimating, and executive leadership to support company goals.
  • Participate in long-term operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience within residential or commercial remodeling or general construction.
  • Strong background overseeing multi-project operations in a high-detail environment.
  • Ability to manage, mentor, and develop project managers and field personnel.
  • Experience with projects ranging from $100K–$200K , with exposure to projects over $1M preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and client-facing skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control.
  • New York City construction experience strongly preferred.
