Job location: Brewster, NY

practice Required: 1 year as a DSP or practice with OPWDD

Pay: $22 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Job employment Type: Temp to Hire

Direct Support Professional General Requirements:

»Minimum 1 year of practice as a Direct Support Professional or practice working with individuals under the OPWDD program.

»High school diploma or equivalent (college education in a related field is a plus).

»Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

»Strong communication and interpersonal expertise.

» capability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

»Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and individual needs.

Direct Support Professional Responsibilities:

»Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

»Assist individuals in everyday living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.

»Promote community engagement and assist in accessing social and recreational activities.

»Implement individualized care plans and behavior support plans as required.

»Encourage skill development and independence in individuals to enhance their quality of life.

»Document and maintain accurate records of everyday activities and progress.
