A major media network is seeking a talented Motion Graphics Editor to join its global visuals team. This is a 5-month role that offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact journalism through innovative visual storytelling, with potential for full-time conversion. Candidates must be able to work onsite in NYC on a hybrid basis (3 days onsite, 2 days work-from home, 40 hrs/week). ResponsibilitiesDesign and produce motion graphics, animations, and visual elements for breaking news, enterprise features, and special projects.Collaborate with designers, developers, editors, and reporters to bring complex stories to life in accessible and creative ways.Help shape visual treatments that reflect excellence, clarity, and innovation across platforms.Work on a range of projects including short-form explainers, long-form features, and experimental formats.Contribute to the conceptualization and creation of animations for interactive storytelling.Maintain consistency and quality in motion graphic storytelling, aligning with the vision set by senior creatives and editorial partners.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong design sensibility and technical expertise in digital graphics and animation.Minimum 3 years of professional experience; portfolio required.Proven ability to manage complex projects in deadline-driven environments.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere.Experience with 3D and/or real-time rendering software is a plus.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a newsroom or media environment.Soft SkillsAbility to work collaboratively under tight deadlines while maintaining high creative standards.Strong editorial judgment and a passion for visual journalism.Willingness to experiment with new storytelling techniques and design approaches.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Self-starter with the ability to work independently, especially during fast-paced breaking news.Open to candidates who may not meet every requirement but are passionate and eager to contribute their unique perspective.Technology RequirementsProficiency in After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, and related tools.Familiarity with 3D and/or real-time rendering software is a plus.In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.
