Kitchen Steward
OVERNIGHT KITCHEN STEWARD
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all the equipment in the preparation of the incoming orders whilst ensuring a clean and organized environment for the chef to work in. Taking instructions from the senior members of the team, you will take a hands-on approach to help support them throughout a busy service.
- Assist the chef in running the operation of the kitchen throughout the night
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness in the kitchen
- Clean all equipment to exceptional standards
- Maintain the organization of the kitchen
- Technical understanding and ability to operate and maintain dish machine and other equipment, re-load chemicals into dispensers in a safely manner.
- Remove garbage on a regular basis and comply with our recycling policy
- Maintain strict health and safety, and food hygiene standards
- Assist with any incoming deliveries and assist the stock rotation of storage units where required; including working inside walk-in refrigerators and handling ice
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward or experience within a kitchen environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent team working skills
- Superb attention to detail and driven by delivering exception standards
- A passion for food
- Resilience and drive to get things right first time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be comfortable in hot or cold environments
