Position Overview

We are seeking a polished and experienced Barista to join our flagship location in NYC. Ideal candidates are passionate about specialty coffee, with the technical skills and creative eye to back it up. Presentation matters here — your drinks should look as good as they taste.

This is a uniformed environment — baristas will wear Smiley Coffee uniforms, which are part of our gifted branded merchandise. Style and team identity are part of our brand ethos, and we want candidates who feel comfortable and confident working in that kind of setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft elevated espresso and brew-based beverages to specialty standards
• Maintain exceptional drink presentation — both taste and visuals matter here
• Deliver thoughtful, discreet, and welcoming service
• Keep workstations clean, organized, and visually consistent
• Communicate clearly and warmly with guests and team members
• Represent Smiley Coffee’s values of positivity, creativity, and professionalism

Who You Are

• 1+ years of experience in specialty coffee or premium hospitality
• Confident in coffee fundamentals (dialing in, latte art, brew ratios, etc.)
• Strong visual sense: takes pride in drink presentation and display
• Calm, composed, and stylish — you bring polish to everything you do
• Team-oriented, open-minded, and eager to keep learning
• Comfortable wearing a uniform and representing a design-led brand
