Teacher
Join a dedicated team committed to providing high-quality early childhood education for Head Start children. As the Lead Teacher in a multi-session classroom serving 12 to 20 preschool-aged children, you will play a vital role in shaping young minds and supporting families. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community by fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for preschool-aged children in accordance with Head Start standards.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with children and their families, promoting family engagement and partnerships.
- Coordinate with community resources and services to support children’s and families’ needs.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, assessments, and ongoing monitoring of child progress.
- Participate in self-assessment and continuous improvement activities for the classroom and program.
- Supervise and support classroom staff, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent coursework in Early Childhood Education with experience teaching preschool-aged children.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and assist children as needed throughout the day.
- Successful completion of a physical examination, background check, and fingerprinting screen.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
- Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
