As part of a reimagined Top of the Rock experience, the most iconic vantage point of Manhattan now includes The Weather Room Bar and Café. Named after the formerly functioning National Weather Service’s Doppler radar that sits atop the 70th floor of Rockefeller Center, The Weather Room offers distinctly New York food and beverages in the clouds.

The Weather Room is a vibrant, guest-driven café and bar where hospitality, efficiency, and atmosphere work together to create memorable experiences. We serve specialty coffee, thoughtfully prepared food, and curated beverages in a setting unlike any other. We’re looking for service professionals who bring the polish and intuition of full-service dining into a dynamic café environment.

Position Summary

The Server plays a key role in shaping the guest experience at The Weather Room. While the service style is café-forward, this position requires a strong foundation in full-service hospitality, including the ability to read guests, anticipate needs, and provide warm, knowledgeable, and attentive service. Servers are responsible for guiding guests through the food & beverage offerings, supporting smooth service flow, and maintaining a welcoming, elevated atmosphere throughout the space.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service

• Provide exceptional, attentive, and friendly service to all guests from arrival through departure.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive guest experience, consistently demonstrating hospitality and professionalism.
• Read guest cues and adjust service style accordingly, balancing efficiency with engagement.
• Address guest questions, feedback, or concerns promptly and with care, escalating to leadership as needed.

Food & Beverage Service

• Maintain thorough knowledge of all food and beverage offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens.
• Execute accurate and timely delivery of food and beverages to guests.
• Support coffee, tea, and café beverage service as needed, in coordination with bar and counter staff.
• Maintain presentation standards for table, bar, and guest-facing areas.

Operational Support

• Assist with opening and closing sidework, including setting par levels, restocking, and cleaning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout the shift.
• Work collaboratively with café cooks, bartenders, shift leads, hosts, and management to ensure seamless service flow.
• Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

Team Collaboration

• Support teammates during peak periods and proactively assist where coverage is needed.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with leadership and peers.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Work Experience & Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of full-service restaurant or hospitality experience required.
• Experience in café, bar, or high-volume guest-facing environments strongly preferred.
• NYC Food Handlers Certificate required within 60 days of hire.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.

• Stand and move for extended periods, up to 10 hours per shift.

• Be exposed to common allergens, hot beverages, and food service equipment.
