Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (New York healthcare job)
• Facility: Tertiary Care Hospital, 26-bed Med/Surg Telemetry Unit
• Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: October 7, 2025
• End Date: January 6, 2026
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2020 - $2080
• Scrub Colors: Navy and white
• Charting System: Epic EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand (required)
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• BLS certification (required)
• Proficiency with Epic charting system (required)
• Ability to manage a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the Rochester facility (locum tenens requirement)
• Willingness to float to other nursing units as needed

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients post-PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post-MI, and those receiving cardiac pharmacological interventions
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; respond to emergencies as part of Rapid Response and Code teams
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Deliver respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management)
• Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Accurately document patient care in Epic EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
