Responsibilities

Details of Research Project:

Research projects focus on structural and functional studies of membrane transport proteins that play central roles in physiology and disease.

Technical Duties: (include any protocols)

Duties include molecular biology experiments, purification of membrane transport proteins for structural and functional studies, structure determination of membrane transport proteins using single-particle cryo-electron microscopy, biochemical and biophysical assays to understand the underlying molecular mechanisms, analysis of these experimental results, and participation in manuscript preparation and grant writing.

Qualifications

Educational and other Requirements for the position: Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related field.

Experience Required: Membrane protein biochemistry and cryo-EM structure determination and analysis.

Goals/Outcomes Of The Research Project

The goal is to apply multidisciplinary approaches, including electrophysiology, biochemical and biophysical assays, and structural biology, to advance understanding of structure and function of these essential membrane proteins at the atomic level and establish new foundations for rational therapies.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
