Location: 46 Barrow St, New York, NY 10014

Job Status: Part-Time

Availability: Mondays and Tuesdays, 3:00-6:00pm

Requirements: Ballet training at an accredited school, company, or conservatory

Position Summary

The Ballet Faculty Member will be responsible for teaching beginner and intermediate-level ballet classes for children ages 3-13. The Ballet Faculty Member will assist with managing the annual Greenwich House End of Year Recital, which is typically held in June.

Responsibilities

• Instruction and management of ballet classes including beginner and intermediate levels
• Set goals for class and communicate them to students
• Attendance and participation for 1-2 staff meetings and/or professional development opportunities
• Exude a positive attitude and be open to ideas of innovation and collaboration
• Keep Director informed of progress and problems
• Choreograph and Produce (with the Director) a year end recital
• Manage ballet class viewing with parents in December before the holiday break

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Dance (Ballet)
• Must have three or more years’ experience teaching students of all ages, especially young children
• Positive classroom management skills
• Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate directly and sensitively with parents
• Professional integrity and a strong sense of moral and ethical standards
