Job Title: Senior Accountant (Interim) Location: Hybrid – New York, NY Compensation: $55/hour Overview Our client, a profitable mid-sized operating company, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team on a contract basis. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager and partnering closely with the Controller, this individual will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, audit activities, and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Record and maintain daily bank feed transactions within the general ledger Review, reconcile, and resolve Navan corporate credit card transactions Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for accounting transactions Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations for: Bank accounts Prepaid expenses Accruals Fixed assets Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies Partner with vendors and customers to resolve billing and payment issues Support accounts receivable collections efforts as needed Follow established internal controls and accounting policies Assist with SOX documentation and maintenance of audit-ready supporting schedules Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits Respond to auditor requests and assist during quarterly reviews and annual audits Analyze account activity, investigate variances, and research unusual transactions Assist with ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5 years of progressive accounting experience Strong operational accounting and month-end close experience Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activities NetSuite experience strongly preferred FloQast experience is a plus Strong Excel skills and overall systems aptitude Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
