About Us
HED NYC is a modern fine dining Thai restaurant opening in West Chelsea in Spring 2026 from East West Cuisine Hospitality, led by founder Naruephon “Billie” Wannajaro. Following the success of Michelin-recognized restaurants in San Francisco, HED NYC introduces a refined and deeply personal interpretation of Thai cuisine rooted in the spirit of shared dining, connection, and storytelling.
At HED NYC, guests experience a seasonal 5 course Thai tasting menu designed around the philosophy of communal dining and regional Thai flavors. The menu highlights elevated Thai cuisine using premium seasonal ingredients while delivering warm, thoughtful hospitality in an intimate Chelsea setting.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven General Manager to lead front-of-house operations at HED NYC. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with a passion for fine dining, Thai cuisine, and exceptional guest experiences.
This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape one of New York’s most anticipated modern Thai dining concepts while building a strong service culture centered on warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail.
A smooth transition and training with ownership support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Oversee all front-of-house operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
- Train, mentor, and manage front-of-house staff to maintain the highest hospitality standards.
- Create and manage staff schedules.
- Conduct daily pre-service meetings.
- Recruit and maintain backup/replacement staff as needed.
- Hire staff with ownership approval.
- Manage reservations and guest communications through Resy.
- Answer and manage restaurant incoming calls.
- Oversee dining room flow to ensure seamless nightly service.
- Edit and print daily menus and service materials.
Guest Experience
- Deliver warm, attentive, and personalized hospitality to every guest.
- Improve CRM systems to track guest preferences and dining history.
- Represent the HED NYC brand with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Maintain strong communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
Administrative & Compliance
- Maintain inventory and oversee vendor relationships and payments.
- Ensure all permits, licenses, and operational requirements remain current.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling, and liquor regulations.
- Generate daily activity and service reports for ownership.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fine dining hospitality leadership.
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Floor Manager preferred.
- Experience in tasting menu or upscale dining environments strongly preferred.
- Passion for Thai cuisine and hospitality.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with reservation systems such as Resy and POS systems such as Toast preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic Adobe software is a plus.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid authorization to work in the United States.
