Pediatric Registered Nurse LPN (School Setting)

For this specific case, you will oversee care for a vivacious young boy. He is energetic, engaging and always curious- the day will be over before you realize it! If you believe in compassionate care and enjoy watching children grow, we want to hear from you. We currently have openings for weekdays, 7:30am-3:00pm

You should be experienced in:

· G-Tube Feeding

· Glucose Monitoring & Insulin Coverage

· Catheterizations

· Nebulizers

· Epi-Pen Coverage

· Supervision Due to Epilepsy

Position Details

• Locations: Pine Planes/Millbrook, NY
• Schedule: Currently have weekdays open 7:30 am - 3:00pm
• School-based setting (1:1 pediatric care)
• Rate: $40.00 - $42.00

Essential Job Duties

• Provide direct patient care to infants, children, and adolescents according to the active plan of care, as given by the physician and other appropriate personnel.
• Provide services in accordance with a physician's orders and in adherence to state, federal, and national accreditation commission regulations under the direction and supervision of clinical supervision staff and agency administrator.

• Monitor and document the student's health status throughout the day

• Collaborate with school staff and other professional disciplines to ensure that patients are receiving quality care, necessary to achieve, and exceed individual goals.
• Use appropriate infection control procedures and safety measures.
• Comply with all company policies, practices, and procedures.
• Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions as necessary.
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies as ordered by the physician.
• Document clear, concise, and accurate clinical notes daily in accordance with the plan of care.
• Notify the RN Case Manager of any changes in the patient's condition.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Current NY State RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Experience in school or community health nursing is a plus

Certifications/Licenses

• Valid NYS RN Nursing License
• Current CPR Certification

Skills & Abilities

• Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of vents, trachs, oxygen, feeding tubes, urinary catheters, ostomies
• Understanding of pediatric disease processes and medication interactions
• Ability to work with clients of all ages and backgrounds

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to remain on school premises for scheduled hours
• Ability to assist with student mobility and transfers
• Ability to lift over 20 lbs., move and carry medical equipment
