Registered Nurse,

This Registered Nurse position focuses on providing skilled medical-surgical care to patients post-PCI, pacemaker/AICD implantation, post-MI, and those receiving cardiac pharmacological interventions. The role requires proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and collaboration within a rapid response/code team. Experience with various respiratory support methods and isolation precautions is essential.

Responsibilities:

- Providing direct patient care to a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio in a 26-bed medical-surgical unit.
- Assessing patients' conditions and administering medications.
- Developing and implementing treatment plans.
- Monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding to dysrhythmias.
- Utilizing and interpreting cardiac monitoring equipment.
- Administering IV therapy and performing phlebotomy.
- Managing respiratory support, including nasal cannula, oxygen masks, and portable oxygen tanks.
- Implementing appropriate isolation precautions.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Charting patient information in EPIC.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Current Registered Nurse license in New York.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting.
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management.
- BLS certification.
- Skill in administering IV therapy and performing phlebotomy.
- Experience with various respiratory support methods and isolation precautions.
- Ability to manage a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio.
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic health record system.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Two or more years of experience in medical-surgical nursing.
- Experience in a tertiary care hospital setting.
- Experience with post-PCI, pacemaker/AICD implantation, post-MI patients, and those receiving cardiac pharmacological interventions.

Special Considerations:

- Must be able to work within a 75-mile radius of the facility.
- The position is in a 26-bed medical-surgical unit within a larger 528-bed tertiary care hospital.
- The unit specializes in the care of patients post-PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post-MI, and those receiving cardiac pharmacological interventions.
