Briefly Describe the Work:

GITI is looking for a Software Developer / Engineer Capable of developing advanced defensive and offensive cyber capabilities. The candidate will be responsible for researching, developing, and architecting cyber capabilities and techniques into existing or new environments. Successful candidates for this role must have critical thinking skills, and problem-solving skills, be creative, curious, resourceful, and have a passion for conveying a wide range of information through research leading to deeper insights. The candidate may work independently or participate in project-wide reviews of requirements, system architecture, and detailed design documents. A Software Developer/Engineer must be able to collaborate well with a strong lean-forward attitude to shift knowledge left, deliver well, and produce quality results.

• Support research and development, as well as test and evaluation, for software applications, translating operational requirements into technical solutions that provide novel cyberspace capabilities or modernize existing cyberspace capabilities.
• Demonstrable proficiency in creating, debugging, patching, and maintaining software and/or applications in a variety of programming languages.
• Effectively use computer-assisted software engineering (CASE) tools, automated testing tools, and infrastructure as code (IaC) capabilities.
• Assist in integrating new/improved cyberspace capabilities into customer environments including, but not limited to, cyber operation platforms and weapon systems to support cyber operations, intelligence preparation of the cyber battlespace, and cyber effects operations.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills to assist the team in delivering high-quality products on time while continually identifying and mitigating risk factors.
• Be a proactive team player willing to improve others while continuously learning and identifying ways to strengthen the team.
• Demonstrate ability to make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency based on good judgment, experience, and professional standing.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in software development, research, and technologies and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
• Demonstrate ability to research and apply new tools, techniques, and solution approaches. Continually learn and improve your skills through sharing with others and taking advantage of available training sources.

Required Skills:

• 6 to 8 years' experience working in software development, software engineering, or related fields.
• Active TS/SCI
• Strong proficiency in the Java programming language
• Strong proficiency in Cloud-native development
• Strong proficiency in Enterprise software deployment
• Deep understanding of algorithms and techniques to identify and mitigate data-borne threats
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability independently or to work effectively in a team environment.

Desired Skills:

• Deep understanding of enterprise integration patterns and their implementations
• Deep understanding of Linux operating system, software packaging, and init systems
• Deep understanding of steganography, and other data hiding techniques
• Understanding of AI/ML and how it applies to defensive cyber technologies
• Understanding of OSGi and modular software development, micro/nano services
• Familiarization with frameworks/libraries such as Java EE, Apache Karaf, Spring, Quarkus, and/or Micronaut

Relevant Certifications:

Certifications in computer programming, science, data science, or related fields (e.g., Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP); Certified Scrum Developer (CSD); Red Hat Certified Enterprise Application Developer; Professional Software Developer Certification (PSD); AWS Certified Developer – Associate; Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate; Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP); Programming Language Certified Associate (CLA); Oracle Certified Java Programmer' (OCJP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH)
