Maître d' — Opening Team | Fine Dining Restaurant | Flatiron District, Manhattan
Join the opening team of an ambitious new fine dining restaurant in Manhattan's Flatiron District.
We are seeking an experienced, polished, and hospitality-driven Maître d ' to serve as the first and last impression of the restaurant and help establish the standard for exceptional guest experiences from day one.
This position extends far beyond traditional host responsibilities.
The ideal candidate understands that the front door is the center of the guest experience. You will be responsible for managing reservations, orchestrating the flow of service, maintaining detailed guest profiles, anticipating needs before they arise, and working closely with the dining room team to create thoughtful, highly personalized experiences.
We are looking for professionals with experience in Michelin-recognized or comparable fine dining restaurants who believe that true hospitality is built through attention to detail, emotional intelligence, collaboration, and genuine care for both guests and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and confirm reservations before service
- Lead the front door operation and control the flow of the dining room during service
- Maintain accurate and detailed guest profiles and notes
- Anticipate guest preferences and recognize opportunities to personalize each experience
- Communicate effectively with management, captains, servers, and support staff
- Assist the service team whenever needed to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Build meaningful relationships with returning guests
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and hospitality
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Maître d', host, hostess, or reservationist in a Michelin-recognized or comparable fine dining restaurant
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of reservation systems and dining room operations
- Excellent multitasking and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding attention to detail
- A warm, polished, and highly professional presence
- The ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative, team-first mentality
- A proven history of delivering exceptional guest experiences
- A strong résumé and professional references are required
- Availability to participate in pre-opening training
