Employee Relations Specialist (Hybrid)
:
The Employee Relations Specialist performs a variety of duties to promote employee welfare, health, and well-being. They manage employee benefits such as short-term disability, referral of long-term disability to the benefits team, FMLA, PFL, worker's compensation, no-fault, and ADA reasonable accommodations. They research and develop policies, procedures, and complete ad hoc reporting and review for regulatory compliance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Administer employee qualifying leaves of absence. Communicate with employees regarding their need for leave and/or modified work schedule. Ensure that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation required to qualify and take leave.
- Responsible for organization, completeness, and maintenance of QLA files and the master record list which tracks leaves of absence.
- Research and Maintain knowledge on HR Laws and Regulations.
- Draft and/or recommend revisions to company policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Maintain, update, and publish NYCM handbook semi-annually. Coordinate and track employee sign offs.
- Conduct and document employee exit interviews.
- Member of performance management team: administer performance reviews to supervisors and track performance review results for all divisions.
- Assist with the development and roll out of training material for employees, supervisors and managers as new laws, regulations, policies, and procedures are developed.
- Prepare, balance, and basic analysis of employee relation reports.
- Assist Employee Relations Business Unit Manager on a variety of projects including analysis, program design, implementation of new employee relation programs/policies/procedures, etc.
- Prepare ad hoc analysis of various employee records as requested by management.
- Assist with eNPS employee surveys and divisional employee engagement goals.
- Develop and document procedures and streamline processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparation and processing of employee relation regulatory filings and various inquiries such as audits and EEOC complaints.
- Report and document employee terminations.
- Continue education as required by management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- 2 years of related experience
Preferred:
- Associate's Degree
- 3 years related experience
Skills & Qualifications:
- Good understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, HR, and HR policies.
- Proficient computer and technical aptitude with ability to utilize Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- Strong communication, listening, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task in stressful conditions, think logically, and work as a team player.
- Available to work additional hours as business needs dictate.
Payband 5 / 40 hours per week
Salary: $44,926-$62,895
