Pediatric Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician
The Department of Pediatrics at Good Samaritan University Hospital (GSUH) is seeking an outstanding full-time Pediatric Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician to join a comprehensive clinical program dedicated to the care of children and adolescents who have a broad range of pediatric development disorders. The division currently consists of two Board-Certified developmental behavioral Pediatricians and Nurse Practitioners to support the growing division and needs of the community.
GSUH is a 537-bed teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health of Long Island. Located approximately 40 miles from the heart of New York City, in West Islip, New York, surrounded by a rich culture and history offering a diverse palette of attractions and points of interests. Children benefit from some of the best school districts and recreational activities in the country.
GSUH is a member of the Children's Hospital Association, is dedicated to the care of children and advancement of quality pediatric services. The hospital has more than 900 physicians on staff, and a Level II pediatric trauma center and cares for nearly 950,000 patients annually across the south shore of Long Island. We offer Suffolk County's only free-standing Center for Pediatric Specialty Care and provide multi-specialty services for the smallest patients through our Level III Neonatology Unit through adulthood.
Specialists support, train and participate as faculty for the Good Samaritan University Pediatric residency-training program. There is also opportunity for those interested in research and scholarly activity in the training program as well as within many of the programs that are supported by Catholic Health.
Salary Range: $200,000-260,000K
Responsibilities include:
Evaluating and managing infants, children and adolescents with a broad range of disorders, autism spectrum disorder, behavioral issues, developmental delays, common genetic abnormalities (e.g., Down Syndrome), sleep and feeding disorders, and educational problems including speech, language and learning.
Supervising, overseeing and teaching medical students, interns, and residents rotating through the department and division.
Maintaining high standards and quality of care to the patients cared for
Promoting high-quality, cost-effective care based on the best medical evidence
Participating in data collection to assess patient care and satisfaction studies
Making best efforts to keep current with developments in pediatrics, medical management and related areas through CME programs, medical literature review and medical staff conferences
Clinical research opportunities are available and encouraged
Qualified candidates are those that are trained in Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and Board Certified or Eligible in Pediatrics and Developmental -Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental disabilities. A NYS Physician's license is required.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's education, training, skills, licensure and certification, competencies and other relevant experience. The salary range listed does not include any bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
