OverviewThis is a Senior Structuring and Origination Lead in Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS). You will be part of a strategically critical effort in ILS.
The ILS team structures, originates, and distributes ILS and associated solutions on a global basis. We aim to efficiently connect risk with capital both by using today’s ILS tools and by innovating to develop even better ILS solutions for tomorrow . The ILS team works side-by-side with our reinsurance intermediary colleagues to deliver ILS solutions for clients as well as to develop the ILS business of the future for Gallagher Re.
How you'll make an impact- Coordinate closely with reinsurance brokers in a multi-year and multiproduct sales process
- Work with brokers to understand how and when ILS solutions in particular and alternative capital more broadly creates value for Gallagher Re clients and prospects
- Work closely with brokers and others to deliver ILS and alternative capital solutions to clients and prospects
- Communicate and interact effectively with brokers, clients, and deal team members
- Prepare and edit presentations and other materials for clients
- Drive transaction execution and communication with clients and brokers on execution
- Manage several projects at once with careful attention to detail
- Help supervise, recruit, train and retain less experienced staff members
- Analyze reinsurance and capital structures both on a quantitative and qualitative basis
- Prepare and edit written content for publications as part of the sales process
- Coordinate closely with ILS sales and trading
- Support new profitable product development in furtherance of client value creation
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- A track record of successful origination, focused on ILS
- Exceptional focus and attention to details
- Well-developed project management skills
- Combination of strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Demonstrated skill in identifying and solving complex problems
- Assertiveness, initiative (self-starter), leadership, strong work ethic, team focus
- Strong interest in in the (re)insurance / capital markets industry
- 6 years or more of hands-on ILS experience as a securities professional including structuring and executing a minimum of 20 or more completed ILS transactions and 10 or more underwritten Rule 144A cat bonds
- Appropriate securities licenses required
