Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Translation Studies (Spanish-French)

LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN TRANSLATION STUDIES (SPANISH-FRENCH)

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Teach, research and participate in the strategic planning and management of teaching and learning;
• Lead and/or participate in curriculum and faculty development activities within the department, the faculty and the wider university;
• Contribute to the life of the university and advance teaching, research and community outreach.

Essential Qualifications And Experience:

§ Minimum of a Ph.D. in Spanish with a special focus on Translational Studies (Spanish/English)

§ Possess native or near native competence in the Spanish;

§ Excellent command of English;

§ Demonstrated scholarly research and publications in the areas of Translational Studies, Spanish Language and Culture;

§ At least five (5) years’ experience of teaching in the related areas at the tertiary level.

Candidates who possess the following will be at a distinct advantage:

§ Knowledge of French Language;

§ Experience supervising MPhil/PhD students;

§ Evidence of prior grant acquisition;

§ Evidence of curriculum development (face to face and distant delivery modes);

§ Administrative experience within an academic institution;

§ Certificate in University Teaching;

§ Evidence of contribution to the Public Service OR field of study.
